• Important to acknowledge there are big differences between NAFTA partners
• Good news is gives negotiators longer time between rounds - was the US side that proposed extending the timetable for negotiations
• Her approach to NAFTA is to hope for the best and prepare for the worst
• There is good will between the three members
• Does not want to minimise very real differences that exist between us
