Most major stock indices in Asia are lower

The Nikkei being the main laggard as it is down 1.20% at the break. Japanese traders will return in a moment, but to see some good news maybe?

US equity futures look to have turned the corner and is now paring losses on the day. Here's a look at how the S&P 500 futures are doing:

Other markets in Asia are also seeing a bit of red, with the Kospi down 0.75%, ASX 200 down 0.20%, while major indices in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia are also trading lower.

The one bucking the trend is the Hang Seng index as it is playing catch up to previous days - as Hong Kong traders were on a break in observance of the Lunar New Year.
